The Best Young Rider Award (Clasificación Joven) is given to the best-placed rider under 25 in the General Classification. It’s a secondary competition after the General Classification, Points Classification, and King of Mountain Classification.
For the 2022 edition, the award is for riders born after 1st January 1997.
The Best Young Rider Award only started in 2017. The best young rider wore a red number bib for the first two years. From 2019 onwards, the best young rider wears a white jersey.
