Is your Wahoo Elemnt, Bolt or Roam frozen, stuck, or unresponsive?

You probably need to reset it. This article will cover three methods to reset your Wahoo Elemnt, Bolt, or Roam head unit.

Method 1 – Forced restart

This is usually used when the screen and buttons become unresponsive. To force the head unit to restart, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.

The power button is the single button on the left side.

Method 2 – Drain the battery and recharge

If Method 1 failed to solve the problem, then leave the head unit turned on to drain the battery. The unit will turn off automatically once the battery is flat.

Proceed to charge the battery until full and turn it on again. Use a USB charger with at least 2A.

Method 3 – Factory reset

The factory reset should be the last resort if Method 1 or 2 don’t work, or if you’re selling the head unit and want to wipe out all the data.

On the Wahoo Elemnt, Bolt, or Roam head unit,

  • Press the power button once to enter Settings.
  • Go to System Info.
  • Scroll to the bottom, choose Factory Reset.
  • Press the Reset button.
